Laser treatment for hip pain

Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome

This study tests a high-intensity laser treatment to reduce hip pain and improve function in people with greater trochanteric pain syndrome (pain on the outside of the hip). It may help if you've had hip pain for at least 3 months and haven't had recent injections or other conservative treatments.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with greater trochanteric pain syndrome (pain on the outer side of the hip)
  • You've had hip pain for at least 3 months
  • Your pain is at least 4 out of 10 on a standard pain scale
  • You have not had a corticosteroid injection or other conservative treatment in the last 3 months
