Who can take part

  • You are 22 years of age or older.
  • You are in the intensive care unit (ICU) or about to be admitted.
  • You can provide a urine sample within the first 24 hours of ICU admission.
  • You have a serious condition like needing blood pressure support, breathing help, or have high lactate levels, or you've had an organ or bone marrow transplant.
  • You are not on dialysis or kidney replacement therapy in the first 24 hours, and you don't have advanced kidney disease, kidney/bladder/urinary tract cancer, or a recent urologic procedure.
