Using NGAL to guide fluids and start kidney-filtering in children

Who can take part

  • You are being cared for in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
  • Your team says your Renal Angina Index (RAI) is 8 or higher
  • Your urine NGAL level is 150 ng/mL or higher
  • You have a urine catheter in place to collect urine
  • You do not have signs of low body fluid (volume depletion)
