Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 90 years old.
  • You have nerve pain caused by peripheral neuropathy (damage to nerves outside the brain and spinal cord), confirmed by a neurologist.
  • You are able to take care of your daily activities independently.
  • You agree to avoid caffeine, alcohol, tea, and certain medications for 48 hours before each study session.
  • You do not have severe heart or lung disease, epilepsy, a history of seizures, or certain psychiatric conditions.
  • You do not have any implanted metal devices (like a pacemaker) that are not MRI-safe, and you are not pregnant.
