Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have low-risk or intermediate-risk prostate cancer as defined by your doctor.
  • You must have had an MRI of your prostate within the last 6 months that shows a visible lesion, and that lesion must have been biopsied.
  • Your cancer must be on one side of the prostate only.
  • You cannot have had chemotherapy, biologic therapy, or immunotherapy within the last 21 days.
  • You cannot be currently on or planning hormone therapy for prostate cancer.
  • You cannot have had prior radiation therapy to the pelvic area.
  • You cannot have had prior surgery or procedures that significantly altered your prostate anatomy.
  • You cannot have active inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) affecting your rectum or sigmoid colon.
  • You must be able to have an MRI (no incompatible metal implants, no severe claustrophobia, and able to lie flat for about 30-45 minutes).
