Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You are generally healthy (no conditions that slow healing, like uncontrolled diabetes).
  • You do not smoke (or smoke no more than 10 cigarettes a day).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You need a tooth pulled because of decay, trauma, or a failed root canal – not because of gum disease.
  • The area around the tooth has not had any previous surgery or grafting.
