Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and have type 2 diabetes.
- You have been taking a standard blood-pressure-lowering medication (ACEI or ARB) for at least 4 weeks.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 24 or higher (overweight range).
- Your kidney function test (urine protein) is between 100 and 5000 mg/g, and your eGFR is between 30 and 90 mL/min/1.73m2.
- Your potassium level is 4.8 or lower, and your A1c is less than 11%.
- You do not have other kidney diseases, certain hormonal cancers, or recent serious heart or infection issues.
