  • Be 18 to 65 years old.
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) of 28 or higher, or a BMI of 24 to 28 with a weight-related health problem like high blood pressure or cholesterol.
  • Have been trying to manage your weight with diet and exercise for at least 3 months without major weight changes.
  • Not have diabetes or take certain weight-loss or diabetes medications.
  • Be willing to use effective birth control during the study if you or your partner could become pregnant.
