Who can take part

  • You are a woman who has gone through menopause
  • You have been diagnosed with lipedema
  • You do not have other types of swelling (like lymphedema or swelling from heart or kidney problems)
  • You do not have chronic liver disease
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 50 or less
  • You have not had cancer, endocrine, neurological, or certain gastrointestinal disorders
  • You are not taking osteoporosis medications
  • You are age 18 or older
