Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with IPF (a specific type of lung scarring) by a doctor.
  • You are in the hospital because your IPF suddenly got worse (for example, increased shortness of breath) within the last month.
  • You were admitted within 72 hours of your symptoms getting worse.
  • You (or your legal representative) can give permission to join the study.
  • Your worsening is not due to another cause like a bacterial infection, a blood clot in the lungs, heart failure, or a collapsed lung.
