Who can take part

  • You have had tinnitus for at least 6 months.
  • Your tinnitus is bothersome.
  • You have normal thinking and memory abilities.
  • You do not have dementia or Parkinson's disease.
  • You do not have Meniere's disease.
  • You do not have severe physical or cognitive impairments that would prevent you from completing study tasks or MRI scanning.
  • You have no history of drug or alcohol abuse.
  • You have no history of psychological or neurological illness, except for managed anxiety or depression.
  • You have no severe chronic health problems other than hearing loss or tinnitus.
  • Your vision is normal or corrected to normal (e.g., with glasses or contacts).
  • You are able to undergo MRI scanning safely (no metal implants, not pregnant, etc.).
