Smart hall crowns versus regular hall crowns for children with tooth decay

Who can take part

  • Your child is between 4 and 8 years old.
  • Your child has at least one back baby tooth (molar) with a cavity on only one surface (top or side, not between teeth).
  • The cavity is deep enough to need treatment but the tooth does not hurt, and there are no signs of infection like swelling or an abscess.
  • The tooth has enough healthy tooth structure left to hold a metal crown.
  • Your child has no severe medical conditions, is not allergic to nickel, and is not taking medications that affect healing (like blood thinners).
