Virtual reality exercises for neck and arm nerve pain
Part of Brain & nervous system clinical trials.
This study tests whether virtual reality-based exercises can improve neck movement, body awareness, and hand grip strength in people with cervical radiculopathy (nerve-related neck pain). If you join, you may receive a new type of physical therapy that could help reduce pain and improve function.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with cervical radiculopathy, which is nerve irritation in the neck that causes pain, numbness, or weakness in one arm.
- You are between 35 and 50 years old, either male or female.
- You have had chronic neck pain for more than 6 months.
- Your neck pain is moderate, rating between 3 and 8 on a standard 0–10 pain scale.

This trial tests a specific neck movement retraining program to improve joint awareness and daily function in people with chronic cervical radiculopathy (nerve irritation in the neck). It may help if you have had neck pain that goes into your arm for at least 3 months.
This study tests whether core stabilization exercises (exercises to strengthen your trunk and back) can help reduce pain and improve function in people with cervical radiculopathy (a pinched nerve in the neck that causes arm pain and numbness). If you're between 35 and 50, have had neck pain for over six weeks, and your symptoms fit, you may be eligible.
This study tests whether a set of neck exercises can help reduce pain from cervical radiculopathy, a condition where a nerve in the neck is irritated. It focuses on improving the angle of the head relative to the neck (craniovertebral angle) to ease symptoms.
This study looks at how the endurance of deep neck muscles relates to your body's sense of neck position in people with cervical radiculopathy (nerve pain in the neck). If you join, you'll have simple tests to measure these factors, which may help guide better treatments.
This study compares two types of physical therapy for people with neck pain that travels down one arm. It tests whether adding a special massage technique to nerve gliding exercises helps reduce pain and improve movement better than nerve gliding alone.
This study tests whether doing neck exercises using a virtual reality (VR) headset is feasible and helpful for people with neck pain that started after an injury. It aims to see if this new way of exercising is acceptable and can improve neck function.
