Reducing medication for advanced prostate cancer after good response

Castration Sensitive Prostate CancerMetastatic Prostate Cancer

Part of Cancer, Kidney & urinary clinical trials.

This trial is for people with advanced prostate cancer who are doing well on their current combination of drugs. It tests whether safely reducing to a single hormone therapy is as effective as continuing the combination, which may mean fewer side effects.

  • You are currently receiving hormone therapy (ADT) plus one of these drugs: abiraterone, enzalutamide, apalutamide, or darolutamide — with or without docetaxel chemotherapy.
  • You have been on that combination for at least 6–7 months without a pause longer than 30 days.
  • Your latest PSA blood test is very low (below 0.2) and a PSMA PET/CT scan shows your cancer has shrunk.

NCT05404139Recruiting· Phase 2
Short hormone therapy and radiation for prostate cancer that has spread a little

Adding chemo to hormone therapy for prostate cancer with slow PSA drop

This trial tests if adding docetaxel chemotherapy helps men whose PSA hasn't dropped enough after at least 6 months of standard hormone therapy (ADT) plus an ARPI pill (like abiraterone or enzalutamide) for metastatic prostate cancer that still responds to hormones.

NCT06652607Recruiting
PSA response as a sign of treatment success in prostate cancer

This trial is for men with prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and is being treated with hormone therapy. It looks at whether a drop in PSA levels after six months can help predict how well the treatment is working.

NCT07260435Recruiting· Phase 3
Shorter hormone treatment for low volume spread prostate cancer

This study tests whether a shorter course of a newer hormone pill (apalutamide or enzalutamide) works well for men whose prostate cancer has spread to just a few spots and who recently started standard hormone therapy. It may allow you to take medication for less time while still controlling the cancer.
