Radiation before surgery to lower the risk of a pancreas leak
This trial tests whether giving a short course of focused radiation before surgery can shrink the pancreas enough to reduce the risk of a leak after the operation. The leak is a common and serious complication after Whipple surgery.

Who can take part
- You are scheduled to have surgery to remove part of your pancreas (pancreatoduodenectomy, often called a Whipple procedure).
- The main duct in your pancreas is 3 millimeters or smaller (this is a measurement from a CT scan).
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities (performance status 0, 1, or 2).
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You can hold your breath for about 20 seconds at a time, up to 10 times.

This trial tests if a short course of radiation before surgery can lower the risk of a pancreatic leak (a common complication). It is for people who are overweight, older than 45, and have a small pancreatic duct.
This early trial studies whether adding targeted radiation during or around pancreatic surgery is safe and may improve outcomes for people with borderline resectable pancreatic cancer. It is mainly looking at feasibility and safety while treating close to the tumor but not spreading (no metastasis).
This trial tests if a medicine called lanreotide, given before surgery, can prevent a common complication (pancreatic leak) after removing part of the pancreas. It is for people with pancreatic cancer or a growth that could become cancer who are scheduled for a specific type of pancreas surgery.
This trial tests proton radiation for people with pancreas cancer that cannot be fully removed by surgery (or who choose not to have surgery). It may help shrink or control the cancer using a treatment that aims to better target the tumor while limiting dose to nearby organs.
This trial tests a short course of radiation combined with chemo and the immunotherapy drug camrelizumab before surgery for pancreatic cancer. It aims to shrink tumor to make removal easier and improve outcomes.
This trial looks at factors that can predict a serious complication called a pancreatic fistula (a leak from the pancreas) after a Whipple procedure. The goal is to help doctors better understand and manage this risk.
