This study tests whether giving a common acid-reducing medication (a proton pump inhibitor, or PPI) early after severe bleeding from trauma can help protect the kidneys from injury. It compares this early treatment to usual care.

Preventing kidney injury after heart surgery with a stomach acid drug
This trial tests whether giving a common stomach acid medication (a proton pump inhibitor) before, during, and after heart surgery can help prevent acute kidney injury. If you are at moderate to high risk for kidney problems after surgery, this study may be a good fit.
