  • Be at least 18 years old and weigh more than 110 pounds
  • Be in generally good health with no heart, lung, kidney disease, or bleeding disorders
  • Not be pregnant (if female)
  • Not have a history of sickle cell disease or malaria in the past year
  • Meet standard blood donor safety rules, including no high-risk activities for HIV exposure
