Who can take part

  • Have a heart pumping measurement (ejection fraction) of 35% or less
  • Plan to get an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) for prevention before a life-threatening event
  • Have no prior history of sudden death (the study is for “primary prevention”)
  • Be able to safely have an MRI scan
  • Do not have implanted or metal devices that block MRI (for example, certain pacemakers or metal implants)
