Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You can join whether you do or do not have heart problems (any type)
  • You are healthy enough to safely do a blood draw or cheek swab
  • Your hemoglobin level is not very low (no significant anemia; hemoglobin is at least 8 g/dL)
  • You have not had a blood transfusion in the last 3 weeks
  • You can provide consent yourself and it fits with your doctor’s recommendation and beliefs
