Who can take part
- Be age 2 or older
- Identify as Black or African-American Gullah from South Carolina’s Sea Islands
- Have lupus symptoms/history that meet lupus diagnosis rules (at least 4 of 11 criteria), or be a close relative of someone with lupus, or be a healthy Gullah control
- Speak and understand English
- Be able and willing to give informed consent (permission to join the study); if needed, a guardian can consent for younger participants
