Who can take part
- You have newly diagnosed, untreated AML or a high-risk MDS type (RAEB or RAEB-t)
- Your disease has specific chromosome changes: t(8;21), inv(16), or t(16;16)
- You can sign written consent to join the study
- You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- If you could become pregnant, you must use effective birth control during the study
- Your kidney, heart, or liver numbers may be affected, but the study team will adjust doses if needed
