Study database for brain signal markers in psychosis

This study builds a database of brain-signal measurements to help find “biomarkers” that may point to schizophrenia or related mental illnesses. Depending on whether you have a mental health diagnosis or you’re healthy, the study will collect information and brain data to compare groups.

Who can take part

  • You must be either: (1) diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, or (2) a healthy volunteer with no severe past or current mental illness
  • You must be able to give informed consent (and follow study instructions)
  • You must be able to read, speak, and understand English
  • Your vision must be corrected to about 20–40 or better (with glasses/contacts if needed)
  • If you are in the mental illness group: no recent (last month) substance/alcohol abuse, and no alcohol dependence in the last 3 months
  • Pregnancy is not allowed for anyone in this study
