You may be eligible if your condition is confirmed by specific heart-lung pressure tests and your medication plan has been stable for at least 4 weeks.

Who can take part
- You have pulmonary arterial hypertension in the “Group 1” category confirmed by a heart catheter test (RHC) with specific pressure results
- Your symptoms and medicines for pulmonary arterial hypertension have been stable for at least the past 4 weeks (no new PAH medicine and no dose/class changes)
- You are not very sick with severe right-heart strain (not the most severe symptom level and no signs of severe right-ventricle dysfunction)
- You have kidney function that is not too low (eGFR must be 35 or higher) and your blood potassium is 5.0 or lower
- You have no allergy to spironolactone and you have not taken spironolactone or eplerenone in the last 30 days
- If you could get pregnant, you agree to reliable birth control during the study; you cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
