Who can take part

  • You have symptoms that fit carbon monoxide poisoning (like headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, confusion, or fainting).
  • Doctors can document carbon monoxide exposure, and there isn’t another likely cause for your symptoms.
  • You are not pregnant and are 18 years or older.
  • You (or someone legally allowed) can give informed consent for the study.
  • Your blood counts are normal enough—no anemia needing blood products in the last 4 months, and your hematocrit is within the lab’s normal range.
