Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 65 years old
  • Pass a physical/nervous system check called a neuromotor exam
  • Not be currently taking psychiatric medicines (psychotropic medications)
  • If you are an inpatient, you must not be in alcohol withdrawal (based on a recent CIWA score of 8 or less)
  • Be able to safely have an MRI scan (no metal/implants that make MRI unsafe)
  • Not be pregnant, and not be left-handed, and not have severe claustrophobia
