This study tests genetic (DNA) information to help doctors identify ovarian or uterine (endometrial) cancer sooner. You may be asked to do this around the time of planned surgery, when tissue is removed and can be checked for genetic clues.

Who can take part

  • You have suspected or confirmed cancer of the upper parts of the female reproductive tract (ovary or endometrium/uterus lining).
  • You are scheduled to have surgery to remove a tumor.
  • OR you are scheduled for hysterectomy to remove the uterus, usually for a condition thought to be non-cancer (benign).
  • Your surgery plan includes removal of both fallopian tubes (bilateral salpingectomy).
  • Your surgery may also include removal of both ovaries (bilateral oophorectomy), if your surgeon recommends it.
