Breath-hold MRI study to test imaging reliability

Healthy Volunteers

This study uses a special MRI gas (xenon-129) and scanner software to check how reliably images can be repeated. You may be able to help researchers improve MRI technology, as long as you can safely do the breathing and MRI scanning steps.

  • You can hold your breath for up to 16 seconds
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 40
  • You have no major health problems based on your medical history
  • You have smoked less than 1 pack per year in total
  • Your oxygen level is at least 90% while lying flat
  • You can do breathing tests like spirometry or plethysmography
