Who can take part
- You’re age 11 to 50 when treatment is assigned (randomized).
- Your diagnosis is a germ cell tumor (seminoma or non-seminoma), or your tumor markers are very high and doctors believe it’s a germ cell tumor.
- Your cancer started in the testis, ovary, abdomen/retro-peritoneum, or chest (mediastinum), and has spread beyond the main area.
- Your risk level is “intermediate” or “poor” based on a tumor staging system used in germ cell cancers.
- Your blood counts, liver, and kidney tests are strong enough for chemotherapy (specific lab cutoffs apply).
- Your heart/lung/nerve and hearing health fit the medication safety rules for this study.
