Who can take part

  • You must be an active NIH patient enrolled in the specific NIH study 16-C-0010
  • Your prostate cancer must be “low to intermediate risk” and not “aggressive,” based on standard pathology, PSA, and biopsy results
  • Your tumor must be visible and reachable on MRI (or a related MRI/ultrasound targeting method) and be at least 8 mm away from key structures like the urethra or rectum
  • You must have had a prostate MRI at NIH within the last 12 months and a prostate biopsy at NIH within the last 12 months (+2 months)
  • You must be able to get MRI with contrast (if needed), and you must be cleared for surgery/anesthesia by NIH
  • You must meet basic blood/liver/kidney safety lab levels and be healthy enough for the procedure (and able to attend follow-up)
