Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be male or female
  • If you have possible sepsis, you must be clinically suspected of having sepsis (doctors are concerned about a serious infection)
  • You should be able to participate even if your thinking is not fully clear, and consent can be from you or your surrogate as allowed
  • You must not have a blood cancer (hematologic malignancy)
  • You must not be pregnant, incarcerated, or unable to speak/read English unless translation is available
