Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are in the intensive care unit (ICU) with sepsis, a severe response to infection.
  • You have a SOFA score of 2 or higher, which measures organ function.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder like DIC or hemorrhagic shock.
  • You do not have a long-term low red blood cell count (hemoglobin below 7.0).
  • You are not taking immune-suppressing drugs after an organ transplant, and you have not had CAR-T cell therapy for cancer.
