Who can take part
- You (or the participant) must have heart disease—either congenital (from birth) or acquired (developed later)
- If you are a healthy volunteer, you must be willing to have an MRI scan
- You must be able to have an IV contrast dye (if you’re a patient; this is not required for healthy volunteers)
- Your heart rhythm must be steady enough for the MRI timing process (no certain arrhythmias that interfere)
- You must be able to safely be near a strong magnet during the MRI (for example, no implanted metal devices or clips that are unsafe, and no aneurysm clip, if applicable)
- You must be able to lie still and follow MRI instructions; for healthy volunteers, staying still is required
