Ripasudil drops before Descemet stripping surgery in Fuchs disease

This trial tests whether Glanatec (ripasudil) eye drops help patients with Fuchs endothelial dystrophy get better results from Descemet stripping surgery. It may help improve vision and reduce symptoms for people whose vision problems come mainly from the Fuchs changes in the cornea.

Who can take part

  • You can read, understand, and sign the informed consent form
  • You are age 30 up to (but not including) 91
  • You have Fuchs endothelial dystrophy, confirmed by the study eye doctor (including special cornea imaging)
  • Your eye has an artificial lens placed inside (pseudophakic), with the lens supported in specific ways
  • Your vision is 20/40 or worse in the study eye, and the doctor feels the main cause is Fuchs “central guttae,” not cataract or other cornea swelling
  • Your cornea endothelial cell count is above 1000 cells/mm², and the outer (peripheral) cornea is clear
