Who can take part

  • You have confirmed metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma that cannot be removed by surgery (not appendix or anal canal cancer).
  • You’re age 18 or older and can complete study steps on your own (performance status 0–2).
  • You stopped first-line chemotherapy for metastatic disease because it didn’t work or caused intolerable side effects (or you relapsed within 180 days after adjuvant chemo).
  • You have enough blood counts and organ function on recent lab tests (done within 14 days before enrollment).
  • You do not have certain serious health problems like brain metastases, uncontrolled diabetes/heart disease, active infection (including hepatitis), or significant bleeding risks.
  • You haven’t previously taken irinotecan, and you’re not taking atazanavir (a specific HIV medicine).
