Who can take part

  • You’re age 18 to 88.
  • You have long-lasting foot drop and ankle weakness in one leg after a nerve, muscle, or bone injury.
  • You can walk 10 meters and stand up from a chair without another person helping (you may use your usual cane/walker).
  • Your heart and blood pressure are stable enough for walking training (no recent heart events and blood pressure not above 160/100 on two checks).
  • You don’t have certain recent serious health problems, major circulation problems in the legs, severe lung or kidney failure, or active cancer.
  • You’re not currently in other orthopedic/rehab programs, don’t have an active deep vein blood clot, and don’t have infected or inflamed skin on the affected lower leg.
