Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your stroke was either more than 6 weeks but less than 6 months ago, or more than 6 months ago
  • You still have stroke-related weakness on one side that affects your leg and causes foot drop
  • A clinician can clearly see abnormal (hemiparetic) walking during an exam
  • You have no recent major heart problems, unstable heart symptoms, or certain serious heart conditions
  • Your blood pressure is not too high for regular physical therapy (must be 160/100 or lower on two checks)
