This study tests a way to help your brain and nerves work better after an arm/hand nerve repair that is already in the long-term (chronic) recovery stage. It may help improve hand and arm function by targeting “neuroplasticity,” meaning the brain’s ability to adapt after injury.

Who can take part

  • You had a nerve repair/transplant in one arm near the wrist area that was done about 12–18 months ago
  • Your recovery is in the long-term stage, such as when Tinel’s sign reaches your fingertips
  • Your injury involved a complete hand amputation between the wrist and elbow or a complex forearm/hand laceration with repaired nerves (like median or ulnar nerves)
  • You do not have significant brain injury (such as from major head trauma)
  • You do not have serious ongoing neurological or psychiatric conditions
  • You are not pregnant and you have no seizure history or fainting spells with no clear cause
