Who can take part

  • You are 2 to under 18 years old when you sign consent
  • Your child has iron deficiency anemia (low hemoglobin and low iron stores) or is at high risk for it
  • Your child has chronic kidney disease, such as dialysis, low kidney filtering (eGFR under 60), or lasting kidney-related urine/tissue problems
  • If not on hemodialysis, your child has tried oral iron unsuccessfully, can’t tolerate it, or oral iron isn’t appropriate
  • If your child can become pregnant, they must use reliable birth control before starting and during the study
  • Your child should not have known allergy to ferumoxytol or iron sucrose or any IV iron
