Test alpelisib plus trametinib for hard-to-treat meningiomas

This Phase 1 trial studies whether combining two targeted medicines—alpelisib and trametinib—can shrink or slow progressive meningiomas that have already been treated with standard surgery and radiation. If you qualify, you may help test a new treatment approach for tumors that keep growing.

Who can take part

  • You have a meningioma confirmed by pathology (biopsy/surgery), grade I, II, or III
  • Your meningioma has grown on MRI within the last 3 to 6 months, with two different MRI scans showing growth
  • Surgery won’t be able to fully cure it anymore, and you have already tried radiation and/or focused radiation
  • You can safely take both drugs (no reason you can’t take alpelisib or trametinib)
  • Your body’s key functions are strong enough (bone marrow, liver, and kidneys) for treatment
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you could get pregnant you use effective birth control
