Etelcalcetide for children with dialysis-related overactive parathyroid hormone

Secondary HyperparathyroidismChronic Kidney Disease

Part of Hormones & metabolism, Kidney & urinary, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.

This trial studies etelcalcetide in children who have chronic kidney disease and too much parathyroid hormone while on hemodialysis. It aims to safely lower the hormone levels and help manage related bone/mineral problems.

Who can take part

  • Be age 28 days to under 18 years
  • Be on hemodialysis for kidney disease and have secondary hyperparathyroidism confirmed by lab tests
  • Have very high parathyroid hormone (two blood tests on separate days) above 300 pg/mL
  • Meet calcium requirements from central lab (higher threshold for babies under 2 years)

Etelcalcetide for children on dialysis with high parathyroid hormone

This Phase 3 trial tests etelcalcetide to lower a hormone called parathyroid hormone (PTH) in children who have kidney disease and secondary hyperparathyroidism while on hemodialysis. It may help control bone/mineral problems, but the study also checks heart rhythm safety and medication stability.

Study of CTAP101 for kids with chronic kidney disease

This study tests a new extended-release capsule (CTAP101) for children aged 8 to under 18 with moderate to severe chronic kidney disease (CKD). The goal is to see how the drug works in the body, if it's safe, and if it can help control mineral and hormone levels that are often out of balance in CKD.

A study of Pacitol Inj. for dialysis patients with parathyroid issues

This study watches how well the drug Pacitol Inj. works and how safe it is in people on dialysis who have overactive parathyroid glands caused by kidney disease. It follows patients who are already prescribed this drug by their doctor.

Study of a new drug for adults with low parathyroid hormone

This trial tests an experimental drug called Canvuparatide against a placebo to see if it can help adults with a condition called hypoparathyroidism, where the body doesn't make enough parathyroid hormone. The goal is to improve calcium levels and reduce the need for high-dose calcium and vitamin D supplements.

Etelcalcetide for preserving vitamin K protein activity in dialysis patients

This study tests whether a drug called Etelcalcetide can help preserve the activity of vitamin K-dependent proteins in people on hemodialysis who have severe overactive parathyroid glands. It may help reduce calcium buildup in blood vessels.

Study of MT1013 for dialysis patients with high parathyroid hormone

This trial tests a new medicine called MT1013 for people with secondary hyperparathyroidism who are on dialysis. It may help control high parathyroid hormone levels when current treatments are not enough.
