This trial tests suvorexant, a sleep medicine, to help improve sleep disturbance in people with PTSD. It’s designed for adults who have had PTSD symptoms for at least a few months and also have insomnia.

Who can take part
- You have a history of U.S. military service and can read and understand English to give consent
- You have PTSD symptoms that have lasted more than 3 months (not just a short flare)
- You also have insomnia (trouble sleeping) based on a questionnaire score above 14
- If you take PTSD or sleep-related medicines or therapy, your plan must be stable for several weeks before starting
- If you are able to become pregnant, you must not be pregnant and must use reliable birth control during the study
