Who can take part

  • Be willing to sign informed consent (and keep participating in follow-up visits).
  • For the main patient groups, you must have the right diagnosis: mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, familial Alzheimer’s, or vascular dementia.
  • If you have MRI eligibility issues (like certain metal in your body or severe claustrophobia), you may not be able to join.
  • You must be able to complete thinking/memory tests (MMSE/MoCA and other neuropsychological testing).
  • You must be willing to have blood drawn (and possibly spinal fluid tests, depending on study procedures).
  • You must not have other brain or body conditions that can also cause memory problems, such as stroke-related brain changes, Parkinson’s disease, major depression, major thyroid/liver/kidney problems, severe anemia, or vitamin B12/folate deficiency.
