Who can take part
- You have a history of claudication—leg pain or cramping when walking that improves with rest
- You have evidence of PAD based on one of these: low ankle-brachial index (ABI) at rest, an abnormal change after a heel-rise test, or a past leg revascularization procedure
- You should not have PAD that is mainly causing rest pain or tissue loss (more advanced PAD stages)
- You have not started claudication medicines like cilostazol or pentoxifylline in the last 3 months
- You can safely do an exercise program and complete the study’s baseline tests within 3 weeks
