Who can take part
- Be 12 to under 20 years old
- Have obesity based on your BMI (very high for age/sex) or BMI of 30 or more
- Have fatty liver (from scans or biopsy) or high ALT liver enzyme (more than 2× the usual limit for your sex)
- Have tried lifestyle changes for weight or fatty liver
- Have normal fasting blood sugar (fasting glucose under 100 mg/dL)
- Be able and willing to follow the study’s lifestyle plan
