This study uses brain imaging (MRI) and controlled stimulation to understand how normal aging and stress affect memory and thinking, including how people navigate. It may help researchers learn what changes in the brain happen over time and with stress.

Who can take part

  • You are age 65 to 80
  • You live in the U.S. and are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • You speak fluent English
  • You can travel to Georgia Tech in Georgia to join group testing sessions
  • You must be able to safely complete MRI and electrical stimulation (for example, no metal implants and no certain heart rhythm problems)
  • You can’t have certain health or brain conditions that could affect thinking (such as dementia, stroke history, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, or untreated depression)
