This trial studies whether adding a PD-1 antibody (an immunotherapy) to standard chemoradiation can better control recurrent nasopharyngeal cancer that can’t be removed with surgery. If you qualify, you’d receive the study treatment and be closely monitored for side effects and cancer response.

Who can take part
- You have nasopharyngeal cancer that has come back in the local area (or nearby nodes) after at least 1 year from your first major treatment.
- Your cancer is not suitable for surgery.
- Your diagnosis is confirmed as nasopharyngeal carcinoma type WHO II or III, and your stage is rII to IVa.
- You must be well enough to participate (ECOG 0–1).
- You have not had prior treatment for this recurrence (no radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or similar cancer treatment).
- Your blood, liver, and kidney tests are in safe ranges, and you can use effective birth control during treatment and for 2 months after.

This trial studies whether adding an anti–PD-1 immunotherapy to standard chemoradiotherapy can control nasopharyngeal cancer that has come back in the local area. It may help patients live longer or have the cancer respond better compared with chemoradiotherapy alone.
