Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 70 years old
- Have paralysis of both vocal cords with no improvement for 6 months
- Have NOT had radiation therapy to the neck or chest
- Do not have serious breathing problems
- Not have certain neck joint stiffness (cricoarytenoid ankylosis)
- Do not have a pacemaker or a cochlear implant or any implanted nerve stimulator
- Not be pregnant
