Who can take part
- You are listed to receive a deceased-donor kidney at Rhode Island Hospital (and the transplant is planned).
- You are age 18 to 65, inclusive.
- You have a diabetes diagnosis (the study will confirm this from your medical record).
- You can give informed consent (and assent if applicable) and follow the study plan.
- You do NOT have very hard-to-access veins for drawing blood or giving medicine.
- You do NOT have major digestive problems that include severe gastroparesis with repeated vomiting.
