Study of a blood-filter treatment for FSGS not responding to meds

Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis

This study looks at how well a specialized blood-filter device (the LIPOSORBER® LA-15) works for people with primary FSGS—especially when standard steroid and other medicines don’t work or can’t be tolerated. It may help reduce disease activity, particularly in people with kidney function that is still moderate or in those after kidney transplant.

Who can take part

  • You have nephrotic syndrome caused by primary FSGS
  • Your steroid and/or other standard medicines failed or caused problems you couldn’t tolerate, OR you’ve had a kidney transplant
  • Your kidney filtration is at least 45 (GFR) OR you are post–kidney transplant
  • You’re between 22 and 75 years old, and you weigh at least 15 kg (33 lbs)
  • You can give consent and follow all study visits and instructions
  • You’re not pregnant or planning pregnancy during the study
