Sugammadex vs neostigmine after anesthesia

This trial compares two medicines used at the end of anesthesia to help you wake up safely and breathe on your own in the recovery room (PACU). It may help find which option works better for people having certain abdominal surgeries.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • Your surgery is expected to last 90 to 120 minutes
  • Your overall health is in ASA level I to III (a clinician rates how healthy you are)
  • You are having abdominal hernia repair, gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy), and/or another abdominal surgery at TGH with Dr. Albrink
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is over 30
